Project: Re-Tweet Radar
Role: Design
Ben Hedrington (whom I worked with at Best Buy) launched Re-tweet Radar and ran it on a monitor in our area. His site was meant to extract meaning from a large set of social media messages in near real time and visually trend it over time, showing topics heating up in conversations even while still slightly off the conventional news radar. Ben is a amazing developer but a designer he admittedly is not. I asked him if he would be ok if I reskinned it and made a logo...he was like "heck yeah!"
The resulting design was liquid to accommodate different screens and reorganized to call out top people and links. The colors and sizes in the tag cloud helped to quickly show the trends, and the additional navigation allowed users more control over the data stream.
There are certain projects for one reason or another I can't display publicly. Have no fear though, I have more work behind a secret door.
