Project: Musical Measure
Role: Design & Front End Development
Musical Measure was a music discovery site that pulled playlists from various radio stations and user ratings to bubble up new music. I was approached by the founders to create the visual identity as well as the site design and front end coding. (I ended up doing all the information architecture and user flows as well.)
The site enabled users to promote music and had a robust account section that allowed them to edit their account. After 2 years and some decent local press they shut the site down.
There are certain projects for one reason or another I can't display publicly. Have no fear though, I have more work behind a secret door.

I've worked on the web my entire career and lately I've been working on responsive web design and approaching projects from a mobile context. I currently work as the Creative Director for BestBuy.com and lead a team of 14 talented web designers. I'm continually researching where the web is heading and love the ongoing learning process that working on the web affords. Adapt or die.
Through my career have worked at small startups, medium sized agencies, and large corporations. I prefer working on sites that have "scale", because of the amount of data available to inform my design decisions. I believe that just because something looks great doesn't mean it's working for the end user. I have a BS in Design Communication from the University of Minnesota and an MS in Technology from Capella University.
I love spending time with my ladies (my awesome wife Stacey and our kitty Foxy Brown). In between launches we travel to get outdoors and stay active as well as hit a beach and relax. I'm a huge music fan (only the good stuff) and have an expanding collection of Hip-hop, Metal, DJ, Electronic, and Classical music. If I'm not on the Internet you can find me mountain biking, on Xbox live, or researching my next car. I also have competed in some beard and mustache growing competitions and am known to have ever-changing facial hair. Did I mention some people say I have a decent sense of humor?
