Capella University went through an exhaustive brand analysis during 2004 with the intention to redesign the brand to better align with their goals and their growing user base. The Capella University website was redesigned and rearchitected to coincide with the brand launch.

Using customer comments from multiple surveys, the website was designed to allow users a variety of ways to learn about Capella and to address the questions prospects have about the university. The main area on the home page used Flash content to help increase brand awareness and keep the site fresh. The entire site was re-coded to use XHTML and CSS to increase the site's download speed, accessibility, and search engine rankings. As a result of the redesign, the natural search hits increased by 78% and first page SEO rankings increased by 200%.
